What is the latest update about the OREA Ontario REALTOR® Wellness Program (ORWP)? –
At a Special Meeting of the OREA Assembly on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, OREA Member Boards voted to proceed with the Ontario REALTOR® Wellness Program (ORWP). The motions that would have ended the ORWP were defeated 73 to 59 with 29 abstaining, which means the ORWP will take effect for all OREA Members on 1 January 2024.
RAHB was one of 10 Boards/Associations that requisitioned the November 29th Special Meeting of the OREA Assembly. With the most recent survey results showing that 63% of RAHB Members do not support the ORWP, RAHB voted at the Special Meeting to put a stop to the mandatory ORWP; however, RAHB’s six votes among the 59 that voted against the ORWP was not enough to stop the program.
What does this latest development mean for me? –
There’s no getting around it, the ORWP has been a lightning-rod topic for many months, creating uncertainty among Members across Ontario. With the outcome of the November 29th vote, it is now clear that the ORWP is a mandatory OREA program for all OREA Members that will come into effect on 1 January 2024.
We ask you to understand that RAHB does not have any authority to allow RAHB Members to opt out of participating in or paying for the ORWP. To continue being a Member of RAHB and have access to RAHB services such as the MLS® System, you must pay in full all RAHB, OREA and CREA dues and fees – including the mandatory OREA ORWP charge – that are included in your invoice.
What has changed on my invoice? –
- Along with the standard quarterly billing charges for RAHB dues, OREA dues and CREA dues, this invoice includes an additional line item for the mandatory OREA Ontario REALTOR® Wellness Program (ORWP).
- This additional OREA ORWP charge is $164.97 per quarter and will appear on your invoice quarterly going forward.
- HST on RAHB, OREA and CREA dues are each shown as separate line items.
What period does the OREA ORWP charge cover? –
The $164.97 OREA ORWP charge is for the period of 1 January to 31 March 2024.
Has anything changed with payment processing? –
- The process for remitting payment will not change, allowing you to pay using your regular method of payment.
- If you are signed up for Pre-authorized Payments, your payment will be processed automatically on 15 December 2023.
When is my invoice due? –
To continue being a Member of RAHB and have access to RAHB services such as the MLS® System, you must pay your invoice in full all RAHB, OREA and CREA dues and fees – including the mandatory OREA ORWP charge – by 31 December 2023.
How can I access my invoice? –
To view or download your invoice, log in to the Member Portal on my.rahb.ca, using your login credentials.

What if I have questions and/or concerns about the ORWP? –
As the ORWP is an OREA program and RAHB does not have any authority over this program, we kindly encourage you to send your feedback to OREA directly at programadministrator@orea.com or orwp@orea.com.
