Project Manager

Established in 1921, the REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB) represents more than 3,100 real estate brokers and salespersons from Hamilton, Burlington and surrounding areas. Members of the association may use the REALTOR® trademark, which identifies them as real estate professionals who subscribe to a strict code of ethics. The association operates the local Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) Systems, provides ongoing professional education courses for its members and lobbies local governments for affordable property ownership and for the interest of members. Nature and Scope
Reporting directly to the Technology Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that business projects across the corporation are delivered on-time, on-budget, with the quality expected and meeting the requirements defined ahead of time. This role will manage operational and organizational projects by creating and tracking detailed project plans, managing and resolving issues and risks, and communicating status and priorities to the senior management team and CEO through regular planned updates.

Using strong project management skills and business acumen, the Project Manager will coordinate with cross functional teams in support of the organization’s strategic goals to be managed via a balanced-scorecard dashboard reporting approach.

The successful candidate should have experience managing and launching IT and business projects, and is comfortable with business case analysis, business process improvement, requirements gathering, project management, stakeholder management, risk reporting and mitigation, communications and change management.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Act as Project Manager to lead multiple projects across departments, working with staff from those departments who will do the work, along with external vendors, consultants/contractors, and association stakeholders as required.
  • Manage end-to-end implementation projects
  • Develop all project management related materials, including project plans, work breakdown structures, status reports, etc.
  • Proactively identify and ensure the identification and appropriate mitigation of project issues and risks
  • Lead initiatives to review and improve operational efficiencies
  • Identify scope changes and manage the change request process for approval
  • Conduct regular meetings with project teams; both written and verbal. Provide leadership and direction in the development of project performance tracking and reporting process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of project status reporting
  • Manage day to day operational aspects of a project and scope
  • Continuously evaluate and assess each project milestone closely to identify lessons learned and best practices for implementation in future phases

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to a university degree in Business Administration, Technology, Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • PMP Certification highly preferred
  • Experience with project management practices and tools to create, manage, and track project performance, cost, scope, risks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with change management, change control, earned value
  • Demonstrably managed multiple simultaneous IT and business projects with success
  • Demonstrated ability to drive to clear action and ownership
  • Exceptional project and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing, and when required escalating to management, concerns before they become significant problems
  • Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager
  • Prior experience within the real estate industry is an advantage
