Members of the REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB) once again proved their generosity and community spirit at the 2011 Charity Auction in support of the CHML-Y108 Children’s Fund. RAHB is proud to announce that $42,773 was raised at the annual Christmas charity auction and social thanks to the support from local REALTORS® and the community. Proceeds made have been donated to the AM900 CHML/Y108 Christmas Tree of Hope Campaign.
"The response from local REALTORS® and the community was overwhelming this year," said Rachelle Aurini, chair of RAHB's Charity Auction Task Force. "You can never underestimate the generosity of the people in the Hamilton/Burlington area when it comes to supporting children's causes."
Proceeds from the partnership between RAHB and AM900 CHML/Y108 continue to support many local children's charities throughout Hamilton and Burlington year round. Now in its 23rd year, RAHB’s annual auction has raised almost $700,000 for the charity, making RAHB its single largest contributor.
The CHML/Y108 Christmas Tree of Hope Campaign began in 1976 as a charitable initiative to help raise money for disadvantaged children during the holiday season. The campaign became a legally registered charity with tax exempt status shortly thereafter under the official name of The CHML/Y108 Children's Fund.
